Hilary is a Scottish artist working from her studio in Fife, inspired by what she sees in the life and environments that surround her.

New Horizons

Hilary has an MA in Fine Art from the University of Edinburgh and College of Art. She has spent over 27 years in creative communications and is now going back to her roots as a landscape painter.

“My work is about how I feel, not just what I see. I want to capture a sense of place and convey the emotion that drives my creativity, making marks that reveal a story of the battle between myself and the physical act of creation.”

From sea to land

Hilary spends most of her time where she lives on the Fife coast in Burntisland and in the mountains of the Cairngorms. These are the places where she feels most at home and finds her inspiration.
